Meet Our Expert Audiology Team
Au.D, CCC-A Doctor of Audiology
Susan earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Arizona in 2012 and her Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in in 2008. Susan is a fellow in the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association.
She believes that being an audiologist means a lot more than working on ears and hearing problems. She appreciates having incredibly important opportunities to help patients understand their communicative needs and work with them to meet their goals. She also looks forward to opportunities to enhance her knowledge of current research and the technologies offered by various hearing aid manufacturers. She was involved in research both as an undergraduate and graduate student, and co-authored articles related to otoacoustic emissions in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America and in Hearing Research. These first-hand experiences have given Susan a greater understanding of the research processes that shape our clinical practices and the future of our profession.
Susan first became aware of hearing devices as a child, witnessing the difficulties her grandfather—a World War II veteran—faced with his hearing. Since that time, especially within the past few years, there have been remarkable advancements in hearing technologies. This leads to greater satisfaction and quality of life for patients with hearing challenges than ever before.
